9-hole A-status course

The full-fledged 9-hole A-status course designed by Alan Rijks truly comes into its own, bordered by the Amstel River and the beautiful Nesserlaan. On our challenging course, players with a golf proficiency certificate can enjoy both the game of golf and the natural surroundings.

Hole 1

A great hole to start with! Make sure you get a good tee shot off and note the wind direction on your scorecard—it’ll help you for the rest of the round. Bring an extra club, because this par-3 often plays longer than you think. Avoid the bunkers, but if you end up in one, a lob wedge is your best friend. On the green? Take a moment to read the slopes and set the right line for your putt.

Hole 2

A hole with character! The tee shot is easy, and the fairway offers plenty of room, but the second shot is the real test. Just before the green, there’s a ditch you’ll need to clear. Did you hit it a little too far? Don’t worry—the back of the green will help your ball roll back down to the lower level. Pay close attention to the wind and judge your distance carefully, because this green is wide but not deep.

Hole 3

A challenging hole where you often have the wind at your back. This gives better golfers a chance at a birdie, but first they must overcome the challenges. The waste area at the bend in the hole and the bunker with railroad ties in the middle of the fairway call for strategic decisions. Depending on the pin position, a precise shot to the green is crucial for a good result.

Hole 4

The longest par 3 on the course, with a nice bunker behind the green. Optical illusions play a big role here, especially with a tailwind, which often makes the hole play shorter than expected. Study the undulations on the green carefully so you know exactly where to aim to get closer to the pin by playing off the mounds.

Hole 5

After a short walk, a challenging par 5 awaits. Play along the right side of the fairway to avoid the many bunkers on the left. Pay close attention to the wind and play strategically. It’s often smarter to hit your third or fourth shot from the fairway to the green rather than from the sand. Patience pays off here!

Hole 6

The most beautiful and shortest par 4 on the course, but certainly not an easy one! For the bogey player, there’s a spacious landing area, while the better golfer must position the ball strategically for the second shot. The bunker 50 meters in front of the green is a serious obstacle, but with a steady swing and an extra club, you can clear it. The green has varying elevations, so a good putt is crucial here.

Hole 7

A par-3 hole with an elongated bunker on the right. When the pin is positioned on the right, you’ll need to play carefully, as the landing area there isn’t very large. When the pin is positioned in the middle or on the left, the hole is fairly easy to play. Watch out for the pond on the left!

Hole 8

The longest par 4 on the course, where it’s best to avoid the bunkers on the left. Playing to the right is the safest route, especially for bogey players who want to take advantage of the landing areas. Better golfers sometimes need to take a risk to avoid the bunkers. Is the pin positioned at the back of the green? Then choose between a long putt or an extra club for a more aggressive approach. Which will you go for?

Hole 9

The most beautiful par-3 hole on the course, where water plays a major role. An aggressive approach is rewarded, but pay close attention to the wind—hitting the ball too short can cause problems. This final hole is reminiscent of the challenges faced by professionals. If you shoot par here, you can call yourself a true top player!
